Many times, individuals go to therapy and want to get advice about how to make someone else in their lives change.
You can’t change anyone except yourself.
Therefore, the focus is on you.
The counselor can’t fix you. You must make the necessary changes to bring contentment into your life.
What attitude adjustments do I need to make? What changes are necessary?
Those questions are asked and answered in individual therapy.
What happens in individual therapy?
Individual therapy is a partnership with you and your counselor to identify things that cause you distress.
Together, we’ll develop and carry out a plan to overcome the anguish.
At A Healing Journey Counseling & Consultation, after the initial assessment, a treatment plan is created specific to you.
That treatment plan will be followed using strategies and interventions in which we have training and experience.
From Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and many techniques in between, your therapist at AHJCC will find a process that works best for you.
